Most pet parents are protective of their animals. Positive reviews of products that offer common solutions to our pet problems are something we frequently run into. We may buy the product based on the reviews, but, honestly, I think half of us expect these new products to fail.

It’s just the way things are. You get a new type of dog food and find out it upsets your dog’s stomach. You want your dog to stay warm during the winter but the sweater you bought them is cheap and tears easily. You try a new flea collar and it simply doesn’t work.

Before I get into my Julius K9 harness review, I want to tell you a little bit about the company. The background will help you see why dog owners love this harness so much.

The Julius K9 company was founded in 1997 under a different name. It started out as a family enterprise. Their first clients were police dogs. They created products specific to the challenges of those who worked with police dogs.

That’s why you’ll see “working dogs” in a lot of Julius K9 harness review. These harnesses were actually made for police dogs, seeing-eye dogs and the like. This is one reason why they work so great; these harnesses have been perfected over a long period of time.

In 2003 the company exploded. Their products were so good that in 2011 they had dealerships in over 20 countries. They expanded beyond products for working dogs to things like herbal therapeutic mattresses (which is a great idea), but they’re still very famous for their harnesses. You can call it their signature product.

Now that we have the features listed, let’s break this down.

The color selection is excellent. They have shades of green, blue, purple, red, pink, brown and yellow. They even have a camouflage one. You can basically find one in any solid color you want, or at least one that’s close to it.

The sizing options are great too. Julius K9 has its own sizing chart. It goes from Baby up to Size 4. Each size is adjustable to dogs of a certain weight and height. So, for example, if you owned a chihuahua that doesn’t weigh more than 3 pounds, you can get a baby size and adjust it to fit your dog.

We bought Kobi, our small Alaskan klee kai, a red one that would fit his weight. We also got his name on it in the customizable labels. It really helps when I’m walking him at night. Cars can see him because of the reflective text. It works just like reflective clothing for cyclists. It helps me feel safer if I have to walk him at night. We especially love the “In Training” Label as it signals to the public that Kobi is still working on socialization. Many people come to approach us and want to pet Kobi because of his cuteness. However, Kobi is really timid and is often reactive to any strangers. This label helps us provide warning to the public that its best to approach from a distance.

Kobi loves his harness - or at least he doesn’t mind it. He walks fine in it. Better than fine - he walks perfectly in it. This is a great no-pull dog harness that isn’t going to choke your dog or mess up their back. It’s really, really sturdy and easy to control your dog in it. If you’ve got a dog that likes to jump strangers or pull you around, you need this harness.

Julius K9 Harness Review: What Others Say

By this point in my Julius K9 harness review, you picked up on the fact that I love this harness. But what are other pet owners saying about it?

Amazon reviewers give it 4.8 out of 5 stars. That’s pretty high. It only got one one-star review. The reviewer said it was a great, quality product, but wasn’t suited for her dog. Go figure.

In fact, the other few reviews that weren’t five star all mention that it’s a good product, but they gave it a 3 or 4 star review for other reasons. One person said the instructions weren’t very easy to understand. Someone else said their dog chewed up a part of it. These things happen.

For the most part, though, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who absolutely hated the harness and feels like they can get a better one somewhere else. It’s a very solid product. It’s pretty tough. It’s meant for working dogs, so you’re going to get a good quality product when you buy it. A lot of people said it was the best harness they ever bought.

The price is just right too. I think for something of this high quality, this harness is priced perfectly. I like the fact that it’s made out of breathable, flexible materials. This is one of the reasons it’s so easy to use and so comfortable for dogs to wear. I also love that I can control my dog without hurting him. He can still move around, play, run and swim while he’s wearing it. A gentle tug is all I need to tell him it’s time to keep moving.

If you’re looking for a no-pull dog harness, I highly recommend the Julius K9 harness. It’s solid, comfortable for your dog, and priced just right. I own one, and I use it every day. I’d recommend it to any dog owner, no matter what size your dog is.
